The Challenge We Addressed
AfterBuzz TV publishes a constant stream of content tied to ongoing television schedules. We chose a technology stack for AfterBuzz that powered continuous publishing, global accessibility, and operational reliability.
WordPress
We used WordPress as the primary content management system to manage AfterBuzz TV’s high volume of shows, episodes, and editorial content. It made managing updates, archives, and scheduling easy and more efficient for the publishing team.
PHP
PHP strengthens the dynamic functionality of the platform and enables smooth content rendering and interaction between the frontend and backend. We used it to ensure that show pages, episode listings, and updates load reliably even during periods of high activity.
YouTube Embed and API
YouTube Embed and API were leveraged to facilitate direct video streaming within the platform while leveraging YouTube’s global video infrastructure. This allowed AfterBuzz TV to deliver high-quality video playback without building and maintaining a separate streaming system.
Akamai
Akamai was implemented to support content delivery and performance optimization at scale. It helps distribute media and site content efficiently across regions, ensuring faster load times and consistent viewing experiences for a global audience.
GoDaddy
GoDaddy was used for domain management and hosting-related services, providing a reliable foundation for site availability. It supported stable operations while accommodating traffic surges during popular show releases and live discussions.
